1,
In my DESPERATE inner search for a good new AIM sn, I resorted to: Pictionary cards.

You know. Pick one card, arrange some of the words on it. I didn't find anything I liked... :c Most of them were more suited, in the tradition of Dave Barry, to be A Great Name For a Rock Band. I got such interesting things as Pine Jockey, Keyhole Nursery, Noise Pit, and Illegible Stencil Dwarf.

But I discovered that's a nice way to get inspiration for.... things. I don't know.

2,
....One day I'm going to bust out with the HUGEST Interests list of ALL TIME and you're all going to be amazed.
Or, I could do them one at a time, adding a new one every day!

and 3,
This, at work, seemed like something people might enjoy. For a minute. (It's a pillow, get it?)

Oh, and I moved into my apartment at school. C: Yay!

I've really, really gotten into the habit of deliberately using poor grammar as a way of sounding cute. I "oversleeped" this morning, for example.

I must stop! :C

So Friday I went to see that new movie by what's-his-name-- it has Johnny Depp in it; you've probably never heard of it since there's been almost NO publicity on it at all-- and in the previews was the [new and MUCH improved!] Corpse Bride trailer. (As an aside and just for the record, the first one sucked. Discuss?)

Except for the characters themselves, which they left alone, this trailer was shown in Spanish. Entirely, and without subtitles.

Just kinda made me go huh? Also I realized my Spanish is not so hot anymore. :c

Also also, I got a couple of mildly amusing pictures from inventory day at work, which I may add in later. They're of boxes.

---Oh and hey. I think the battery indicator on my Zen musicky dude is broken. Last night when I turned it off it showed 2/3 full; when I turned it on again this morning it was completely empty and yet it's been running great for like a half hour. Mmmmf.

Birthday!

Current cartoon guilty pleasures: Avatar: The Last Airbender and Chalk Zone. Avatar is, of course, the guiltier of the two, but it's fun to see someone trying to do invented foreign cultures! :D (Biggest flaw: insults thrown by characters are poorly writen and unconvincing! ...Okay, so maybe that's just a facet of the one-trait-per-person characterization in general, but I'm desensitized to most of that already, and they insult each other so much!) And Chalk Zone is just so imaginative and cute, and it has fun music and the episodes are about 10 minutes long. Whee!

Also I have a JOBBIE! I cashier and organize WALLFULS of pillowcases!... and things. I answer to Too Good for Actual Managerial Duties Manager, Good Ol' Nice Manager, and Endless Tasks For Me on the Floor Manager. Also, they play all these well-known songs but they use versions that are performed by the wrong people! :C Oh, well. Replacement DS and Tiger for me by the end of the summer! And maybe some JEWELRY although I would probably buy too much of that.

A couple of weeks ago-- or maybe just one-- I was out taking a walk in my neighborhood and I started hearing some classic rock being played across the street, like somebody was throwing a party. So I went over to go watch, or something (...I don't know o_o), but as I got to where it sounded like it was coming from, I couldn't hear it anymore. I kept walking for a bit, thinking maybe it was just between songs or something, but no! I started to hear it coming from a couple of streets further down.

So I kept walking, and as I got closer to where it sounded like it was coming from, it got louder, until I got within about 100 feet or so of it, and then it was gone again. So I kept walking, and I started to hear it again...

Long story medium, this happened about 2 or 3 more times until I ended up at the freeway and called it quits. As I walked back home, the same thing happened behind me all the way. It kept sounding like I had just passed the house that was playing all the music, not that I was ever approaching it.

It was weird, guys.

So my scholarship? The one keeping me in school and off the streets like a useless hobo? And the meeting with the guy in charge of it?

Yeah. That lasted about five minutes. He kept cutting me off while I was trying to get in all my sympathy-inspiring stories! :0 BUT, it turned out not to matter because he was like, Yeah. Whatever issues you had, you've obviously gotten over them now. Here, have some money.

XDDDDDDD

One week left of school-- count 'em, ONE-- and Mom sends me this *huge* amount of snack food. Two cases of Capri Sun, two boxes of microwave popcorn, two king-size boxes of Junior Mints, and a thing of Pepperidge Farm Fancycookies (chocolate chip and macadamia nut :3). There's only one package of those, but since the cookies are about the diameter of a softball, I think I'll be all right. XD

You know something? I realized that the "So Long and Thanks for All the Fish" song shares the same bit of melody at the beginning of its verses as Avril Lavigne's "Complicated." So anytime I start humming the one, I always get the other stuck in my head instead, and it makes me angry!

Cars!

Okay, so I saw this car, right? And it's all black and kinda hearse-y looking, although it's clearly just a normal model of car. And on the passenger door there was this huge sticker of an American flag, and on the door behind that (which has no special name?) there were gold capital letters that just said "PROPHET".

I'm kicking myself for not getting a picture. I was so confused by it. Is it a prophet's car? An official government prophet?

Anyway, speaking of black carsssssz~ I got one! For myself!
I got a (used) black Honda CRV!

^I love Google image search.

Lisa, I need to burn you that CD still! Remind me.

Okay, so Friday I'm going to the elementary school... someplace... to help with the after-school program teaching little kids to play tennis! :D So cute! This was the week the coach's regular assistants weren't going to be there, so he said he really needed people to come help. I haven't actually done this before, though, so we'll see how it goes. Hopefully this entry will help me not to forget about it, either! o_o

To that end: I am being picked up at 2:45 outside my dorm. TWOOOO-FORTY FIVE. *rememberment!*

Time now for dinner~

I watched a grackle courtship ritual the other day! :D Picture it: The lovely girl grackle was standing there by the sidewalk, calmly pecking away at things, when in swoops this sleek-and-shiny boy grackle out of a tree, landing just a foot or so away from her. He tilts his head back, stretches out his wings and fluffs out his feathers as showily as possible, screeching loud for all to hear.

Have you ever seen someone you knew across the street, looked them dead in the eye, and waved to them, only to find out a few seconds later that they weren't who you thought they were? And they probably didn't even know you at all? So you have to try and cover yourself, and pretend you were just scratching your neck, or fixing your hair, or something.

That's what happened to this bird. She completely ignored him. So he's standing there, trying to look like he had some other *completely legitimate* reason to be fluffing and yelling and stuff. He hops around once or twice, making sure anyone who's looking sees that the act was NOT just directed at her, but at OTHER THINGS too and for perfectly good reasons of his own, gradually toning down his screeching and flattening his feathers again. He then starts pecking quietly beside her as if nothing had happened. Bottom line: Funniest thing all week.

You're kind of a realist. You know that no matter how good your day is, something's going to come along and jump on your head and wreck the whole day for you. Especially when they jump on you again, and then you're bouncing between two walls. Sometimes they're nice and they stop you, and othertimes they move on and laugh. But, you don't see the point in getting bitter about it. Sometimes you wish you could be just a bit meaner so that everyone would stop thinking you're so nice. You're probably into zen gardening and New Age chanting, and you might be a bit tired of having people think this makes you a shoulder to cry on.

Which Mario bad guy are YOU?

It's so true! T_T Well... truer than most of the quizzes out there. That I've taken.

Go post? It's fun and good for you.

I could've sworn I had something to say, but I can't think of it. Mrf.

Will stop at 15.

EDIT: Never mind, 14. And I'm done!

I shall try to make them ones people have actually SEEN this time. Although, regarding the last one, I guess I didn't actually EXPECT many people to get some of them. It just made me sad how few people had seen them and I wanted to remedy that fact. By... mentioning them. And saying they were good.

Moving on! )
