[livejournal.com profile] lalunaaj: Here are some pics I took to clarify the, um... whatever. Here's what it looks like.

The whole swingset ((from behind))
The one on the end
The one in the middle ((mine))
((Last one omitted for redundancy.))
The horshoe-shaped bit rotates inside the bit attached to the top bar, and the rest of the chain is pretty loosely connected to that, as you can see. I took a short video of this in motion; I can't upload it anywhere, but feel free to IM, email, or otherwise bug me for it. :)

So I tried it a couple more times today, and it behaved in the following manner(s):
1. The one to my right moved steadily opposite to mine, and the one to my left I couldn't really be sure of a pattern in. It might have been just a half-phase off. Later that same day,
2. The one on the right went kind of nuts, getting a little too high for itself and "bouncing" ((please know what I'm talking about...)). The other never really got very active, and in fact stopped altogether at one point. When I noticed this and mentioned it to some person I was showing it all to, it started back up again ((but still stayed fairly low)).

Again with the your thoughts!

How strange! Looking at the pictures then at your description of their movement, the swings are acting completely off of what I'd expect...

...then again, I'm no physicist...

well I have no idea other then the pole they are on is loose and actually moves slighty with the swinging of yourself causing the other ones to move too.
*shrugs*
I'm not sure... I'm liking phreid's idea better:D
