Why do I buy new journals all the time? I decided I needed this leather one from Barnes and Noble because it was leather and awesome and had no interior labels of any kind, and I have filled one page so far, but man. I have so many mostly-empty journals lying around.

"Wow, I was holding back all of my most wonderful secret secrets before, but THIS baby is just SO suitable for containing them! Look how antiquey! I'm totally gonna be the next Leonardo da Vinci now or something, with all of my private mental majesty recorded for all time! I'll shape up and write Poems and chronicle my whole life and everything instead of 'wow, this pear tastes really good' before giving up and filling it with spirals and triangles and whatnot, this time for sure!"

WAIT, NO I WON'T.

Haha, I totally do the same thing. I've managed to do it less often in recent years though, because I know I'll never use the notebooks if they're too cool. So I satisfy my desire for paper by buying crappy notebooks that I don't care if I mess up.

Just do daily sketches. Writing about the profound secrets of the universe might not be the best way to approach that. Maybe you could do a sketch of something you saw earlier in the day, just an object sitting around, and then write about it?

And thanks for your kind words. I've been meaning to call you, actually, because there's a chance I might want to actually commission a fancy take on the Craburai and I wanted to talk about it.

Woot woot! Actually, the reason I haven't done it yet is that I didn't have the time/energy/whatever to do it in epic fashion, or the heart to do it otherwise. Money might be the solution! :D
