Mar. 27th, 2006 10:59 pmWow, I just bought the biggest bag of mini-Reese's ever. Almost $10, for what claims to be 60 oz. of candy. (...Well! It tastes good, and I needed chocolate, and I was at Sam's.)
The bottle collection is growing nicely as well. I did a quick, lazy count just now and can safely say I have somewhere just over 100 of them. This is why there have been no new pictures. When I only had like 20 I didn't mind the idea of spending a few minutes taking a few photos, but now? Eesh.
ARGH, why is all I have to offer pictures of bottles anyway? I want to produce something more creative but I don't know what. :X I have a lot of little snippety ideas-- character sets, scenes, what have you-- but I'm so terrible about coming up with actual full-length plots, and what if they're all too self-inserty anyway, and-- blaaarggh. People who have managed to accomplish this, how did you do it?

Special Offers By Phone, Part III
Mar. 20th, 2006 08:13 pmBeen awhile since I put up anything entertaining, so here: Tetrod! Every time I go it devours me.
I got a call just now from some energy company claiming they could lower my rates significantly while still leaving all the actual labor/visitation/service to my current company (?), and when they got to the ID verification part, everything checked out except the first name they had listed. That name... was Ruby Jean.
...What? Nobody in my entire family has a name like that.

Strangers Are Neat
Mar. 1st, 2006 10:46 pmSo my car's had this problem where the steering wheel jiggles back and forth. Wasn't a control issue, but it made things very, very bumpy. Worrisome. And it'd been getting progressively worse to where, today, it felt like I was driving on at least one flat tire.
Well, SOMETHING was wrong with the right front tire after all because today it exploded. On the way to the tire place. Well, on the way back home to look up where the tire place was exactly, because I'd originally gone out just assuming I'd come across it and didn't. So anyway, nobody was hurt, nothing dangerous, but there I am sitting out on the inner shoulder getting a shortsleeve tan, knowing I don't have a spare tire and finding it odd how completely without a clue I am as to what to do. I called a few friends who don't actually have cars, before I remembered that about them; I stared at the gas stations barely over a street away, not knowing how good of an idea it was to just leave the thing alone; and I ended up just sitting on the hood for a while (catcall count: 2), trying to think. A motorcyclist entertained all and sundry by doing a wheelie and staying in it all the way down the road. I had thought of some friends with cars, but I didn't know how to tell them where I was.
I knew for sure, though, that I wasn't going to be stopped for. I never see anyone stop for people; I never stop for people-- waiting for stoppers was not on the plan list. And then within five minutes a lady had pulled over.

In Which Words Are Fun
Feb. 27th, 2006 12:21 amhttp://bollbashers.com/bashing.htm :
--"I'm not sure what Boll sees when he looks through the director's lens while filming each of his pictures, but I'm certain it's mething different than what the rest of us see."
- Marjorie Baumgarten, The Austin Chronicle
I asked people and was informed that "mething" was a unique typo of "something." I liked it better when I thought it was a newly invented (mild?) expletive, and am considering actually using it as such.
Would anyone else do it with me, so I don't feel like a dork? :(

Feb. 20th, 2006 08:02 pmI finally cooked that sweet & sour chicken that's been sitting in my freezer since the beginning of last semester, and MAN! It tastes great. Not to mention the box (typo: bokes*) contains a small mountainful of food. I'm gonna go have some for dinner now.
Also, I've finally been organizing my picture folders and cleaning up my desktop, which had 600+ unsorted photos and so many icons that some of them actually overlapped each other, respectively. I've still got a ways to go on the former, but since a lot of them are multiple attempts at the same shot, it isn't really like I have to look at that many hundreds of them. Heh!
WARNING: A lined-paper sketchdump may result from sheer manageability.
(*Might be the Chaucer Blog on the brain still, although I'm sure it's not correct there either.)

Johari Window Antics
Feb. 16th, 2006 12:29 amSo, of the 3 people I don't remotely know who added to my Johari Window recently,
-One who I THOUGHT was a friend of
phrotus's, but actually isn't and I'm dumb,
-One is a dude who was trying to go to brenna and missed (I'm capitalized),
-And one, aNTONIO, is still a mystery.
Fess up!! D:

Johari-fy me! :D Go on, it won't take long!
---
ALSO, A THOUGHT:
I've been hearing this song (took me awhile to find one with no popups!) on the radio-- and despite really liking the sound of it, it recently started bugging me. :[ It finally occurred to me that this is because it's really only a love song to her own feelings of love, not to another person. Go look at it. There is not one phrase praising the actual beloved himself, rather an admiration of her own admiration-- the implication being, of course, "...and aren't you lucky to have it?"
Now I'm going to be listening for how many other songs are like this. :\

Shortest post ever?
Feb. 7th, 2006 09:54 pmI must express my newfound but sincere appreciation for Ask Dr. Eldritch. :)
I'm trying real real hard to think of something else to add, but I just can't!

Feb. 1st, 2006 10:04 pmGood GRIEF!
Sable is the deepest character in the whole game. By a mile. Who knew? Every time I come in and talk to her she has a new bit of intensely personal backstory to share, each one being several paragraphs' worth of text.
Other than that, I got my east wing (!), and the expansion made my house eat my peach tree. :( So, I need to hunt down some peaches again. Oh, the shame.

I want to join so much! I love looking at clouds.
I like their pictures, too. Maybe if my camera didn't suck so much I could submit some of mine.
...Well. My camera and my photography skills.
Anyway-- what a great group :)

Jan. 26th, 2006 12:14 amSeriously, what are they? I was using the Random Journal feature (http://www.livejournal.com/random.bml), and the titles of two in a row were the same quote.

EDIT: I felt bad, so I padded the entry a little-- but ONLY a little.
I got this bag of Hershey's Treasures, and it is my new favorite bag of mixed candies. There's chocolate full of chocolate, chocolate full of caramel, and chocolate full of peanut butter. There are NO bad flavors! Not even any not-as-good flavors! Oh-- so nice.
Also, in Metal Sculpture they have this thing called a plasma cutter, which lets you cut steel into freehand shapes. I want you to appreciate that this is not an exaggeration: it is like cutting warm butter. It makes me feel SO powerful and totally not afraid of this class anymore. Which is good, because-- I really was.

I'm double-clicking on each letter, by use of the Character Palette, in which there is no Space or backspace. (Other than this ( )'d part, added later when I switched to Word's more comprehensive Insert Symbol, every space was copied and pasted by hand. Line breaks are a result of pasting my paragraphs into/over pre-formatted ones.) Why? I'm cleaning my keyboard. All the keys are out.
Surprisingly, despite not being cleaned in 3 years and having food eaten over it all the time, it's stayed pretty decent. The biggest problem is actually pencil shavings. Go figure.

Jan. 20th, 2006 03:24 pmI was driving back home today and I noticed one of those plasticardboard signs nailed to a telephone pole advertising tarot readings. I actually looked at it for a second, because I thought it might be neat to go and do one of those things, someday, just to see. But then I saw they were 10.99 a session and I was like Psssh! Forget it.
I tried to justify that reaction, though, and I couldn't do it. I realized I had no idea how to judge the fairness of that price. And then I started wondering, where does that number come from, anyway? If I go and have a reading done, what has she given me $11 worth of? Labor? Time? Cosmic awe?
What costs does she have in this business? I guess there's leasing the place, but seriously. Candles? I can't really figure it out. It seems like, essentially, after the one-time cost of a deck you should be good to go.
Hey, maybe this is what I should do for a living :O

Batgirl meme WITH A TWIST
Jan. 20th, 2006 12:38 amTailsteak, who I greatly enjoy watching, does not have a Livejournal.
Therefore, his Batgirls-- all FOUR of his lovely Batgirls-- were most likely to go unnoticed.
UNTIL TODAY! D:
...I, uh, don't have any of my own. Whatever.

The Christmas Post
Dec. 26th, 2005 09:56 pmWell-- Christmas was had by most, I guess! I feel lame posting it this late, but you can still take my Merry Christmas and use it to remember the 25th more fondly than you would have otherwise. :)
After the hallowed holiday tradition of The Muppet Christmas Carol (best version there is, if you ask me!), I got a buttload (metric: 1.25558 whole lots) of candy, and a connect-the-dots book! ...And a blank journal with a crackly cover, and some fuzzy socks, and a necklace. But yeah, with the California thing-- which interested no one, I notice!-- there wasn't a lot of presents money. Relatives-money, though, went toward an attractive new coat (and will continue to do so, since there is much tailoring to be done)! Mmmm, shiny new coat. It's gray nubby couch-type fabric, with this paisley wallpapery pattern in peacock blue. :3 I can't wait till it stops looking ridiculous on me. Oh, how I'll strut down the sidewalk in it!
( And then I started talking about Animal Crossing again )

I swear I tried this at least a dozen times, until it became clear that no time, at all, ever was going to work for this guy. At this point in the conversation there is no Cancel option, either.
I can explain everything, Mr. Resetti! See, there was this dude... with stripes... please don't put holes in me.
